Fred:
If you’re talking about the rail line through Frederick, IL, that’s the Beardstown Sub.  There’s approximately 10 trains per day on that line.
Thanks,
Jason J.

Does anyone have an idea what the approximate current train count is on this line?    4 or 5 per day?

Thanks, Fred R.

Louis,

This area is prone to some serious flooding.  The Illinois river only drops about one foot from Havana (35 miles upstream) to Beardstown.  I have attached a photo of the depot in Frederick:  under water!

If you have the time, the following link will give you a lot of history of the area.  Their website may jump around a bit, but it is worth the effort.  I don't recall if it is mentioned or not but supposedly DA BOYS from the Chicago mob would come down for duck hunting and fishing if things got too hot in Chicago.

The Browning depot still exists.  Although I don’t know how high the water is.
