The Colorado RR Museum has in their files The Roman style alphabet that the Burlington System used on rolling stock  up until 1958.  At that time, the Compressed Block Gothic alphabet style was introduced along with the Chinese Red color.  The problem with the Museum's files are that the letters and numbers are all individual sheets, no collection of images on a single page. This reflects the usage of the various elements as guides for cutting stencils, not as some sort of font for printing.  It has been a number of years since I looked at these sheets and they may have been refiled as a more user friendly format.  Any way, that is one aspect of the quest for decal production to consider.

Concerning the Script slogans, what is needed are good broadside builder's photos of the cars in question.  When Rod "Bat"  Masterson was alive , his collection of drawings from the Havlock shop files had a good selection of painting and lettering prints that  paint shop crews (and by extension,  Q Modelers) used as guides.  Bat was quite generous in making these materials available to BRHS members, so there may be copy drawings out there in someone's collection.

This probably is not as helpful as you might wish but, having been down this path myself, it is a start.  Jim Sandrin
