Burlington Route Historical Society added 5 new photos.

On August 2, 1968, West Burlington Shop employee, Gary Siefkin, took the poloroid shots of the just-painted CB&Q 629, the first locomotive painted in Cascade Green. Lettered Burlington Northern, with the BN logo on the cab, the loco was then taken to Chicago Union Station in anticipation of the merger announcement. The merger was denied, but the locomotive was still displayed. Soon after, the "Nothern" and logo was removed and the unit was placed in service.
