The January 1, 1942 CB&Q locomotive assignment sheet lists R-4s 1907 and 1955, R-5-A 2113, S-2-a 2932 and S-3 2974 as leased to the SP. The next assignment sheet I have is for May 1, 1942, and it adds )-2-Bs 5263 and 5272 to the list. By Sept. 1, 1942, the two Mikados had been transferred to the FW&D (where they joined the 5294 and 5297), and by Dec. 1, 1942, the other five leased 2-6-2s and 4-6-2s had been returned to the Q.
In the archives of the old CBQ Yahoo Group should be found the information and photos of several of these locomotives that I posted a couple of years ago. I'm attaching four photos of them here. All were oil-burners from Q Lines West.
