Good luck on your search. As a kid I looked out of those windows many times but of course have no idea what the top of the platform covers looked like. If you have not checked out the Portal to Texas History that I mentioned, it might turn something up. I think that they do have a shot of the yard looking north that may be at a high enough angle to see some of what you are looking for.

Mike,

Yes, it seems that any shots of them from above the covered platforms were taken from well above 1000 feet above the ground, if not higher. There doesn't seem to be anything taken looking out a window of people on the platforms and or trains in the station, which would be very useful. I suspect that the operator might have had something like this, but whether any of that still exists today is highly unlikely, unless it ended up in a private collection somewhere, and that may never see the light of day, unless a family member donates the material and that material is cataloged.

Don't remember ever seeing that view, but will look around to see what turns up.

Mike,

Im looking for elevated views of the tops of the covered platforms, to see what they looked like, what sort of finish they were, etc...

On The Portal to Texas History (google for the exact link)are some photos that include the Sam Houston Zephyr and maybe the Texas Zephyr.
