Sun light or lack of it as well as age and the surface the paint is put on will all change the colors as well as the color photo chemicals and light will change the photo

Close is better then not knowing at all.  And the different lights we use on layouts can change the colors from outdoor lighting

No two boxcars even painted one right after the other will age the same so color is a mater of the viewers interpretation

I was able to purchase a copy of Zephyr #47 and it has a nice color swatch of the station colors (actually two sets). However, even considering differences in lighting, they appear quite dark compared to two color photos of stations outsides on the same page.  Any thoughts?
