I believe two of the cars are business cars being built for the Wabash and Anhauser-Busch.   There was a third one for another road which I can’t recall at the moment.

IRRC they were built on the underframes of old heavyweight cars.  It looks like the corrugations are Budd in origin (the large corrugations were screwed to the car sides and there were caps that snapped into the fastening groove to cover them).  On Budd cars the small corrugations above the windows and over the roof were shot welded to the frame and were an important part of the stiffness of the carbody.

Prior to the construction of the (original) Zephyr, Budd was experimenting with Shotwelded fluted stainless steel panels. One of units constructed using this technology was a rail! car that was exported to France – photo attached.
