I don't have the answer to question 1 handy, but can offer some insight on your second one.

The Q didn't have any S1s, but did have 9 S2s. By the time of when you are focusing your layout, they were all based in Denver, so you should be ok not having any.  I don't have exact dates, but they were in Denver during the '60s. They ended up getting traded in to GE as credit for 9 U23Cs and went to Precision Engineering in Mt. Vernon for disposal in 1969.
