‎Not just that was borrowed by airlines from RRs. The whole air traffic control system (right down to terminology) was copied.

The stories regarding pay are quite interesting to me. It's fascinating how similar but still different these stories are to my time with a major airline. There's different terminology but still the tension between labor and management. We have Open Time (OT) and Late Arrival Pay (LAP). The railroads have ITD and FTD. We would be on trip rig (hours flown) or duty rig (how much time at work). And a million other rules.
