For those of you who have BRHS Bulletin 51 make a notation in the article on
the non passenger chores the dinkies performed. Thanks to Jon Habegger's
discovery in a used book store we now know that in 1954 there were two wheel
cars in use transporting wheel sets between 14th street coach yard and the
Aurora shops. Car numbers were 250405 and 250856. Cars went in on #198 from
Aurora and came back in #103 laying over at14th st. to unload turned wheels and
send worn wheels to Aurora.
The book he discovered appears to be an extra list or junior Condrs. Diary of
jobs he was ordered for periodically. He kept detailed records of
consists,power,crew,etc,etc.
Interesting thing is he recorded everything except his name.
Have a found a nice visual for the upcoming, updated Fox River branch
presentation.
