Leo..Maybe this would be a good time to explain the  "step on...step off" agreements.  There was one at St. Joe MO and I think Burlington IA and probably lots of others..Since you are more "experienced" and have probably actually worked a turn that did this so perhaps you would like to "do the honors"...

Between Chicago and St. Paul passenger crews changed at Savanna and La Crosse at the depots during normal station stops.

On the mainline to Denver there were a number of interdivisional runs tried and used for many decades. Again crews changed at station stops during a routine stop.

So for the most part crew changes didn't effect passenger train running times.

Did the passenger crews do any interdivisional running? This seems like a time saver, especially between Aurora and LaCrosse Division crews, especially in light of the stiff competition with Northwestern, and Milwaukee.
