First let me say the guys on this site(as usual) are awesome. Thanks for all your help off line. Based on those emails REA was at the SW corner of Brainard and the tracks. There will be slides in the presentation showing the Q internal documents related to it.
The freight house on the North side became VERY important in 1948 to crews on the Congress Park job, want to know why? Come to the presentation and learn why.

La Grange had several things going on the North side.

A team track.  A spur to Lord Lumber and a spur to the National Guard Building.

The National Guard building would look like a freight house. What would a kid know.

We were playing around a tank parked out side the NG and I cranked he turret around and

busted out a window. OOps...

I never knew about a freight house as such.. Except the REA.

I was in 8th grade then...  Tom Hammer

Leo - I do have one attached/inserted image that barely shows one of the freight house sidings at LaGrange:

The image dated September 1954 shows a beautifully painted and polished exhibition locomotive No. 35 with its H&StJ mail car placed for public display. Perhaps, you or another reader can tell us the exact location between LaGrange Road and Stone Avenue. No. 35 is right alongside the main(s) and not roped off to keep the public off the high speed right-of-way. It would be very different today..... Best Regards - Louis

Tom, Leo -

Check CERA Bulletin #138 for photos of Chicago & West Towns Railways at LaGrange Rd and Stone Ave. terminal.
