Thank you very much, I was pretty sure that there was a team track, but have been tripped up once too often by “everyone knows…” facts that did not turn out to be true. I want to use the location of the team track as a point in tomorrow’s Village meeting about giving the depot historical status; Downers makes a big thing about the number of Sears homes it has, and one of the reasons for that were the town’s team tracks.

Yes, Mike I can. According to the 1959 alignment book there was a westward opening switch, just east of Maple Ave. off Main 1. It served two tracks. One was parallel with the main and ended just short of Fairview. The second came off the parallel track and ran NE into the property. I believe there is a photo of a car on one of these Turks. In one of the Spoors books. Somewhere I read, saw that the bldg that today has the piano operation was once a Sears storehouse.
I personally at least one car on these Turks. In the early 70s.

Can anyone confirm the presence of a team track at Fairview Ave in Downers Grove? I seem to remember one on the north side of the tracks between Fairview and Maple Ave just west of the depot.
