I don't know how much this helps you.  I have a 'half size' plan of this depot that is a terrible copy (barely readable), and I also have a pdf of some reduced CB&Q depot drawings, both of which indicate that this depot was constructed as a two-story structure in 1916, with a gambrel roof, pergola, and exterior walls made of stucco.  The outside dimensions of the main building are 20' x 39'-6".

Whether this was a new construction, or a substantial reconstruction of an existing structure, it does not say, and I don't know, although there was a station at East Grove that existed prior to this time.

The Village of Downers Grove will be holding a meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday 2/15/17 at the Village Hall to discuss naming the former Q depot at Fairview Ave a historic landmark.  I plan to speak about the usefulness of the depot as a tourist draw (it never hurts to get local businesses on your side) but I could also use some basic facts about the depot, like when it was built and what’s underneath all that stucco!  Any basic info would be helpful.

Not much planning went into this, I didn’t have time, but luckily I had a well lit subject! What a great way to start a trackside visit! The train cleared leaving ...
