I forgot to mention:

East Grove shows up as a station in the timetable as early as 1885, and perhaps earlier.  CB&Q changed the name of the station to Fairview Avenue sometime between September 1922 and January 1923.

The Village of Downers Grove will be holding a meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday 2/15/17 at the Village Hall to discuss naming the former Q depot at Fairview Ave a historic landmark.  I plan to speak about the usefulness of the depot as a tourist draw (it never hurts to get local businesses on your side) but I could also use some basic facts about the depot, like when it was built and what’s underneath all that stucco!  Any basic info would be helpful.
