Most members of this group have seen photos of Wyoming Ry. 105 as a hulk "preserved" at Buffalo, Wyo., the only surviving Q 2-6-0.  Here's a John Barriger shot of the locomotive in service in better days, pulling up to the Q connection at Clearmont with the daily mixed train from Buffalo.  Barriger, a passenger on one of the Q's Lincoln-Billings trains (41-44, the General Custer, and 42-43, the Adventureland in the mid-late 1930s when the photo was taken), was standing beside his train when he took the photo, and the conductor is walking around other members of Barriger's party who were no doubt traveling in a Q office car.  Nice photo of a seldom photographed railroad.

Here are links to two Otto Perry photos of the road's locomotive, the first one taken in Denver as the line's first locomotive, a former D&RG 2-6-0, was about to be shipped north, and the second showing the 105 at Buffalo in 1934:

At the meet in Billings in 2013 Bill Tulley gave a clinic on the Wyoming railroad. He identified 103 as ex-Q 1162 which would be an H-2 built by Pittsburg in 1898.

The 2-6-0 is numbered 103, it's lettered for the Wyoming Railway, the location is UCross, WY and the date is August 23, 1947. This locomotive looks to me to be a Class H-3. 

 

The "hulk" of Class H-2 No. 1175 that was Wyoming Railway No. 105 is on display in Buffalo, WY. I'm unable to find any information on other Q locomotives sold to the Wyoming Railway.

 

The Corbin book roster doesn't show any Class H locomotive sales to the Wyoming Railway. I'd appreciate knowing what Q 2-6-0 become WRy 103. Best Regards - Louis
