Hi Ray,
Thank you for providing me with Bill Glick's email address. I looked up some of his books online after receiving your response, and I think they're exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to check into the first book of John Strauss' series as well.
I am a modeler, and ultimately I'd like to assemble at least one full consist in HO scale.
Thanks again, and have a great day!
Jon

Jon,
Examples of 1930's passenger cars can be found in the several books by Bill Glick, you can contact Bill direct at Qglick@.... His books cover heavy weight cars used during that period. His first book, Passenger Cars of the Burlington, has 160 HO scale drawings.
John Strauss has several books that include details as to the types and names of cars used on the Q. His book, Burlington Route Passenger Trains, volume one, might be a good start as it has a good portion covering the 1930's. But his books, there are 3 in the series, also covers the stainless steel cars of the 40's, 50',s and 60's as well.
If you are a modeler, doesn't matter if you do N, HO, O, G or anything else, Bill Glick's books are a MUST. He has done an excellent job of detailing all the cars with some great photos. His detailed drawings is a true art.

Subject: [CBQ] Heavyweight consists of the '30's
Good evening everyone,
I'm a new member to this group, and I'm hoping to get some information about passenger consists the Q ran in the 1930's. Can you point me to appropriate books or resources of the passenger trains from this era?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
