All-
I am researching Chicago-Aurora Stations and have some dates of construction for the transition era (1950s) stations taken from CB&Q Station Diagrams. In some cases these are the second or even third station serving the town.
If anyone has done research on stations or has drawings or photos of previous stations I would appreciate hearing from you. I have been working through Sanborn Maps and have established prior station locations for Downers Grove and Naperville as well as a few others based on old property maps. Bill Barber has already provided me with photos from the Downers Grove Historical Society of the station that preceded the present one before and after it was turned into the freight station. An interesting side note is that there was a turntable and engine shed on the South side of the tracks west of the Downers Grove station prior to the 1890s.
