Some time ago I inquired about plans etc. for this tower and I'm sorry that I haven't' posted a photo of the finished HO model sooner. I used photos for the dimensions and the model is scratch-built. I am not modeling Jacksonville but rather a proto-freelanced Wabash junction and needed a large Wabash "standard" brick tower for my 40-lever Armstrong frame. (Jacksonville was the largest of the Wabash standards I also built a full-size tower board with indicator lights for my interlocking (see attached photo). I did not add the large smoke jack utilized at Jacksonville but rather a more typical chimney treatment. But the upper windows with their three pane transoms were molded in resin from a modified Tichey window. The lower windows were just modified Ticheys. All window castings had to be flipped because of their use in a masonry structure. I scratch-built the door. The brick is the textured brick paper made from a photograph offered by Micro-Mark. The roof is removable for later detailing and lighting. I was never able to get a good color photo of the shingles but a Dave Ingles photos in Trains magazine was as close as I could get with what appeared to be pink and green shingle and fabricated caps. I did not model the train order signals like that at Jackson as I have a highway overpass in progress near the tower that needs a lower clearance for the signal. I have yet to had a bathroom vent on the roof. Victor A.
