This definately looks like lower yard at Red Oak...These Baldwin switchers were assigned to the St. Joe and Creston Divisions and were often seen around Red Oak, Villisca and Creston. One of these was "featured" in Steve Holding's piece OS Creston. It was on a work train unloading cinders along the Hamburg Branch around Riverton, IA where the Nishnabota River habitually flooded every year and such flooding was the "proximate cause" of the line between Farragut and Hamburg being abandoned. This branch is still intact between Red Oak and Shenandoah serving an ethanol plant at that point. The piece between Shenandoah and Farragut remained intact until fairly recently. Pete
