The Q depot at Lisle IL was still on the north side of the tracks in the 70’s, here’s a photo I got of it in 1977:   https://flic.kr/p/bzbxSi

Actually it’s still standing to the north of the tracks because it was moved to a park when the new depot was built:  https://flic.kr/p/bzbywk

Rupert,

I don't understand your question. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and to my knowledge, all of the Q stations between Chicago and Aurora are on the south side of the tracks including Lisle, Hinsdale and West Hinsdale. Most were old stations when I was born in the early 1940s. Most of them had shelters on the north side, but the station was and is on the south side of the tracks.

Charlie

Is there anything about Lisle and Hinsdale that prevented the stations being
built on the south side or is there any indication as to why they were on
the north side of the tracks? Would the location of the station relate to
whether the bulk of the local population was living on the north or south
sides of the track, road access, land availability or some other reason?
