Working as the Main Line Dispatcher in Cicero for BN the PC(NYC) would get orders from the Illinois River Bridge operator to operate up to Zearing. At the time there was a control siding on both the North and South side at Zearing. They would drop their cars into our yard on the south side and then run up the hill and over the top of the Main Line coming out of the north control siding in the CTC and crossover and duck back in the clear on the south side to turn the motors. Pick up the cars for them and head back south. In the White City subdivision of DePue (east of the Three I Over((NYC-PC)) head bridge on the Rock Island ) there was also an overhead bridge beside the RI main of the Chicago Ottawa and Peoria( interurban the DePue Library was the substation/Depot) Steve in SC __._,_.___ Posted by: STEVEN HOLDING <sholding@sbcglobal.net> __,_._,___ |
