I've been questioned about the Custer connection. Checking Richard C. Overton's Burlington Route, page 229, the connection was established at Huntley on 28 Oct 1894. So I was misinformed. It was severed from the NP but served as a beet spur for years, after the new connection at Huntley entered service. I wondered about east bound helpers to Parkman in the steam era. The Steinheimer photo shows a double header going east, but I assume the second engine was dropped off at Parkman. Do you think this would have been put on at Hardin? Do you know if the North Line to the sugar factory in Hardin was built to connect the plant to the main or if it had an earlier purpose? Was the sugar factory the only industry on it? Take care, Chris Atkins Argyle, TX On 6/29/15 8:51 AM, runextra@gmail.com [CBQ] wrote:
