Ken - I enjoyed reading about Q 719 now on display in Alliance. I've
attached an image of the 4-6-0 type when numbered 919 on the Sterling, NE,
to Cheyenne, WY, branch. It was powering a mixed freight at Alvan, WY, in
July 1956. The locomotive would've been age 53 and was still producing revenue
ton miles for the Q. Hopefully, funds can be raised to put a shelter over
719 to protect it from the elements. Best Regards - Louis

A friend recently sent me a copy of this article on
CB&Q 719 that was published in the Alliance, NE, Times-Herald on
April 14, 2015. I don't recall having seen it mentioned in this forum, so
thought I would pass it along.
Best regards,
