Those GP7 would be in evidence at Beardstown. In modern times, post 1960, the light rail in all directions out of Springfield limited freight diesels to GP7, GP9, F7. So six axle power, nor high horsepower geeps. F7's disappeared in 1975. After about 1981. I hope this provides some focus to your motive power choices. I have a question that came in the mail to the Company Store. I'll throw it out to the group and then return any answers via USPS. I don't have the person's email, so the best I can do is return via postage they provided. Below is the question ... "Does your group have any photos or books for sale depicting CB&Q operations in the BEARDSTOWN ILL area. I am a B&O fan but am looking for views depicting B&O power on the CB&Q at that point." I haven't had a chance to check Bulletins or Zephyrs - any suggestions? Any feedback is appreciated.
