First: The Official Railway Guide lists a TOFC facility for the Q in Savanna, IL. From all the aerial and ground photos I have seen, as well as the yard diagram, I cannot recall a location for a TOFC ramp or any loading/unloading facility. Does anyone recall if there was one (and if so, where it was located) or how the Q handled TOFC in Savanna? Second: I continue to have a big gap in my understanding of the Q's use of Flexi-Van equipment. They had the cars and containers, and the Flexi-Van concept did not require gantry cranes or lift equipment to get the containers off the cars - certainly a plus. But it did require the special dollies be located at the Flexi-Van terminals. An aerial shot outside Minneapolis of the MILW yard shows they clearly had a robust Flexi-Van service. But where did the Q utilize their Flexi-Van equipment? I have seen very few shots of Flexi-Vans on trains. A few on passenger trains, but I can't recall any on freight trains. I know there must be some info out there somewhere on how/where the Q planned on using their Flexi-Van equipment because they needed to make sure the chassis/wheel sets were available at the Flexi-Van delivery terminals.
