Yes there was an underpass just west of Long Common Road that connected the east side of the station to the east end of the shelter on the north side.  It is still there, but blocked off.  I can't remember the last time I went through it, probably in the 1980's.  I think it has been blocked off from use since the 1990's.  The Riverside Historical Society could probably tell you.  It was not as large as the underpasses at Naperville or Lisle, but similar or perhaps a little larger than the one at Congress Park.

Does anyone recall if there ever was a pedestrian subway under the tracks at Riverside IL that connected with a small passenger shelter? I do not recall seeing any signs of one, but since I only get out to Riverside once a year for their big car show I might have missed it, or signs from the past.
