Hol - If you have retirement dates for the FW&D 550 series Pacifics, was one of them retired in the early to mid-50s? Seems unlikely that the wrecked locomotive shown in the image would've been repaired so close to dieselization. Lastly, can you make out the number on the FW&D steam derrick? An interesting image, indeed. Thanks - Louis

I asked the seller if there was any data on the back of the print and he said it was blank.  But I do know one of the FW&D 550 series Pacifics derailed in the early-mid-1950s while on the daily assigned run between Fort Worth and Dallas with the Texas Zephyr.  This assignment lasted until the C&S and FW&D began buying second-hand E5s from the Q in 1955.

Group - Can anyone identify the attached EBay image that shows T&P and FW&D steam derricks rerailing a badly damaged locomotive.  The unlucky locomotive looks to be a FW&D Class F-3A-1 4-6-2 type. Its missing cab in down in the brush at bottom right. The image is unidentified as to date or location. Best Regards - Louis
