Here's the 13554 in Denver in August 1962 equipped with the Allied Full Cushion trucks from another car at the time they were banned from interchange service as an experiment to see if they improved the ride quality of waycars. When the Q began run-throughs with other roads the 13554 could not be used as long as it had those Allied trucks, and they had not been particularly successful at improving ride quality, so a pair of ASF type A-3 ride control trucks were placed under the car in early 1963 and the Allied trucks were placed under the 14151 when it received its side door for Sterling-Cheyenne service. It was felt that on this branchline with its original 1887 56-pound rail, the Allied trucks might indeed improve riding quality, and apparently they did to some extent, as the car kept them until its retirement. The second photo of 13554 shows it in Denver again, this time in July 1964 with the ASF A-3 ride control trucks. Hol
