Hol and Group,

Our mutual friend Jim Miller built one of these bridges on his Princeton module on the original Midwest MOD-U-TRAK layout. Jim told me the hardest part was bending the upright support rail at the extreme right angle. Per the prototype he used actual code 70 rail. The main problem was the rail section snapping at the bend. I believe he used his resistance soldering tweezers to finally pull it off.

Sincerely,

Rob Manley

When this topic first came up last month I began looking for the drawings I knew I had and today I finally found them.  And unfortunately, as I had recalled, they are poor quality Xeroxes of copies of the originals, both single track and two- (or more) track.  I've done what I can to bring up the dimensions and other data, along with the lines of the drawings themselves, but they're still pretty bad.  Note that the multi-track structure employs a steel truss in addition to the wooden beams, and I only have the first page of (presumably) two for that one.  Hopefully, though, something is better than nothing.

Irrespective of what the bridge was called, does anyone have a plan or drawings for it?  There were an almost identical one at Belmont, Nebraska, that I’d like to build.  Also, does anyone know roughly when or by whom the bridge would have been built?
