Chris:

The photo is of train 34 upon its morning arrival in Alliance from Denver (it was combined with No. 8 out of Denver and separated at Brush, with the SD9 powering it north from Brush) in July 1964.  The two rear cars are an Intermountain Chapter NRHS excursion from Denver enroute to Deadwood -- a heavyweight Pullman sleeper and the chapter's former Q office car 96.  The photographer was one of the many of us on the trip, though most likely the late Ken Cristl, many of whose slides were acquired by Al Chione and used in his sets.

[Attachment(s) from Chris Atkins included below] This duplicate side showed up on eBay. The auction mentions the location
as Alliance, but nothing about the date and photographer. Does anyone
know if this was from a set of commercial slides? Either way, any ideas
to the date and which train this is?

Thanks,

Chris Atkins
