Jonathan - Thanks. Did Sheridan have a roundhouse or a shed?  Perhaps, Hol can tell us if the M-2-A trio are simmering in front of the Fort Collins, CO, shed while on loan to the C&S. Will be interesting to find out. Best Regards - Louis

Louis -

The rectangular, wooden engine shed with (slightly) peaked roof seems to have been a fairly common design on the Burlington and C&S. The 3-track engine house at Ft. Collins, CO, and the "mallet shed" at Deadwood, SD, are a couple of classic examples.

According to the lists of assignments for both 1935 and 1952 in Corbin's Steam Locomotive of the Burlington Route, 6145 and 6170 were assigned to the Sheridan Division. My assumption would be that's where they were during the intervening years as well. Interesting that all 16-18 M-2A's on that division were lignite burners.

Jonathan
