The main rod connected to the front driving wheel is angled up, instead of towards the main crank pin.

Thanks!

Group - Here's an old undated image (inserted and attached) of Class S-4-A No. 4004 taken at the Clyde Engine Terminal in the Cicero, IL, yards. Question is, what's "wrong" with the locomotive? For what reason is it awaiting repairs?

Let's see how many Group members have sharp eyes for steam locomotive mechanical defects and can quickly spot the problem! Best Regards - Louis
