Dennis,

The picture in my presentation shows a GP7 in the lead with a couple other newer model GPs following. I'm travelling and the presentation is on a different computer so I can't look at it for further info. Long and short is the job would get the second tier power for the time period. I'm sure it often had F units when they were nearing their end.

What would be the typical power units in the eastbound pickup?

Bob,

The Oregon Turn was the Wayfreight so it only had a SW,NW or Geep for power, therefore it would handle only the small station work between Sugar Grove and Oregon. The heavy lifting eastbound from Oregon and Rochelle would be done by the pick up. Not only because of power limitations but also because of the need to get the Mt Morris mail cars to the eastbound dinky at Aurora.

Leo--Would the Oregon turn haul empties/loads back to Aurora in addition to the mail cars or leave them for another train to pick up?
