Clamshell buckets, Hol John From: "Hol Wagner holpennywagner@msn.com [CBQ]" <CBQ@yahoogroups.com> To: CB&Q Group <cbq@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Friday, November 7, 2014 5:16 PM Subject: [CBQ] Coal Bins [3 Attachments] Nelson Moyer and others have inquired about the small capacity bin-type coal chutes used by the Q at a number of locations, and some time ago I posted the diagram for the one at Western Avenue -- the only such diagram I have located. Surprisingly I've not found diagrams for the two most photographed ones -- those at Burlington and at Wymore, Neb. But to aid anyone looking to model these open-top chutes, filled by dragline buckets from gons of coal on adjacent tracks, I've gone through the photos I've accumulated while putting together a Bulletin feature on Q coaling stations, and I'm posting them here, beginning with three Lines East installations. Two Lines West installations to follow.
