OK.. it is time for me to recant my statement that this was not DSM.   Obviously, this area changed a LOT from the time this photo was taken and my arrival in DSM in 1974.  So, my apologies for my misstatement!

Group,  I purchased the F-Unit photo of this group of photos on Ebay. After scanning at full resolution we can now read the roof sign and I'm pretty sure the top row says Carr-Moehl which was a millwork company located on SW 9th Street in Des Moines.  The clock tower does look exactly like the Polk County Court house tower. I attached the photo here.  Hope its not too large. Pretty sure this is Des Moines.
