It'll have to run on 112 miles of old Burlington track anyway.  Has anyone looked at the old Rock bridges and culverts between Wyanet and Colona?  The Rock hadn't done anything to them 20 years before they went down and I never saw much done after 1980 in my time around there.
 
PTC to run at a decent speed?  That means every crossing will have to have the approaches extended and probably have prediction devices installed.  $$$
 
Then again, they could keep it cheap and dirty and just add a sleeper on the Chicago/Moline trains.

I had absolutely no idea this was even funded. With that much freight
traffic on the Q, the Rock really would be the preferred passenger route.
