It would make too much sense to put it back in to the west end of the old plant at Aurora like it use to be.  One planner wanted to put it back and run it all the way to the West end of the Montgomery Plant not knowing the fill is not wide enough a long where the old stock yard was.

Eola is a choke point with trains frequently parked just to the west and east on the mains.  The expanded yard tracks will allow those trains to be parked where they are not in the way.

With the addition of the Quad Cities service there will be 12 Amtrak trains each day on the Chicago sub, and the Mendota to Waynet.

Upon further review no changes to the mains, but maybe what used to the 3rd main gets extended from Ohio st west to New York St

Thanks Michael,

If I'm looking at it and reading correctly the east yard is getting extended at both ends, looks like two new mains get added on the south side of existing ones and possibly the third main goes back in as far west as New York St.

One extensive project for four additional trains a day. Looks like the rail fan photographer community also will lose the nice area on the south side at the east end of Eola.
