Hol - Do you have any idea if any photo archive in Omaha has original prints or negatives belonging to C.M. Hobart who photographed the Fast Mail? Would be wonderful if they were still in existence to illustrate a Bulletin article with. Best Regards - Louis

Believe it or not, there's another magazine account of the January 1897 competition between the Q and C&NW for the Chicago-Council Bluffs mail contract. It appeared in, of all places, a British publication, The Strand Magazine for March 1897. Sorry it's taken me a few days to get the pages scanned, but here they are -- probably in two messages, since Yahoo has a 10MB limit on attachments. Hope everyone enjoys this article, too.
