John you recently asked where Mitchlers Waycar along rte 34 between Oswego and
Yorkville went.
This weeks Kendal county record has an article about its move to Reddick,IL for
refurb and display at Lake Shannon. The Waycar is now owned by the Meridith
family which also owns the Lake Shannon development.
Mitchlers had purchased the Waycar in the late 60s when the RR was offering
them to the public and those not purchased were burned. Many at the Montgomery
Sheep yards and Eola.
Bob Mitchler had worked for the Q prior to entering the Navy,I seem to recall
as a clerk.
