Burlington history presentations.

I know this very short notice but just found access thru the BRHS
website to your e-mail address and others in BRHS. I am a board member of
the North Lee County Historical Society here in Fort Madison, IA. We are
having a train show here in Fort Madison, IA Saturday April 12, 2014. I
guess you could call me the conductor of the train show. Please find the
attached .pdf form of our flier with the details. Our museum is located in
the Santa Fe/Burlington Route depot complex in downtown Fort Madison. So it
will be close to the rail action, the swap meet in Riverview Park and the
train show at the Old Fort Players Theater at 725 Avenue G, downtown Fort
Madison.
One of our programs will be on the Fort Madison & Northwestern RR
that was eventually purchased by the Q in 1900. Initially we were going to
have Donald Young, from Mt Pleasant, IA do the program. Unfortunately he
passed away two weeks ago. However, we were able to contact Michael Johns in
Mason City and he will do the program at 2:00 PM April 12th. Maybe you know
Mr. Johns? He wrote the book on the "Peavine" several years ago. He did live
in Ottumwa but moved to Mason City to work on the electric RR operation
there recently.
I should have tracked the BRHS down before this but have been busy
lining up other things. We would really appreciate it if you could share
this info with the BRHS thru the website if possible.
