The antenna was a 1/4 wave whip. Length is 18". The DA part is the base. Drill 
it and add a very fine piece of wire and your done.

  I have a couple of the Walthers HO scale GP20s and manged to lose the antenna 
off both of them.  Looking thru prototype pictures, looks like the 20s kept the 
same antenna throughout their careers on the Q.
   
  Does anyone know what the type was and if one is made in HO?  It looks like 
DA 229-1802 and 101802 (brass) are close if not the same.
