My copy is "Remote Control on the Burlington" by W.F. Zane Railway Age 2/24/34 One of my notebooks is full of copies of signal articles. Starts in 1908 thru 1960 when ever I find an article it goes there. I have other notebooks on various subjects. There may have been times the small house with the smoke stack in the Barriger Photo was used for a train order operator. At times we would cross over Agency (east of Ottumwa) using the CTC at Lawler Tower or use it to reverse (with DR order)Maxon to Lawler Tower. There just was not much flexibility with the Iowa Ozark grades between Ottumwa and Creston Steve in SC ________________________________ From: Douglas Harding <doug.harding@iowacentralrr.org> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2014 8:12 AM Subject: [CBQ] Re: Maxon Interlocking Steve and Glen, thank you very much. And yes I would appreciate a copy of page two, as I only have the first page. My primary interest was the map showing the M&StL at the time. But someone just asked on the MSTL list if Barriger CBQ photo #130 was Maxon (which it appears it is, looking west) and that has prompted new questions. And very interesting the same article with different photos was published in competitive publications. I have since found the ebay listing for the page I have, and it did state it was published in Railway Age, but no date was indicated. Doug Harding www.iowacentralrr.org |
