Thanks for looking, Leo. My sympathies. I had too many trips with unsteady Teddy. And he was always worse eastbound after the layover if you know what I mean. Everything about a Uboat was awful - starting with the near vertical climb with a grip. And the weird throttle, the acceleration like a turtle, the ride.....

The 1990 paperback book The "Q" from the North Western Illinois Chapter of the NRHS has a picture from Mike Schafer showing U-28Cs on a train at Stratford in February 1970.
