We’re plugging away on the HSR and I would like to date this image that was in a frame at the Depot.

 

Steve indicated I could borrow it but I forgot to ask him about it and nothing is noted on the back. 

 

The image is really glued on and I don’t want to damage it trying to remove it from the backing.

 

Is this showing the grand opening of the Depot in July 1891?

 

It appears to be summer, late morning.

 

I cannot see any cars, just horse & carriage and the utility poles don’t bother me because I believe Keokuk had power by the late 1880s.

 

The clothing appears to be no later than early 1900s but really feel like 1890s to me.

 

Let me know if you can date this photo or know for certain that it’s from the grand opening.
