Nolen

I took the Board quote from Overton’s Burlington West. I’ve had a very quick look in the Steam Locomotives book but can’t see anything – what page?

I believe if you go back and check Corbin's book you will find that the actual point of division between Lines East and Lines West was Pacific Junction Iowa.

Re. the discussion last month about the terms “Lines East” and “Lines West”, it seems to have originated in 1880 at the time of the merger of the CB&Q and the B&MR in Neb. Charles Perkins was then holding the offices of both vice-president and general manager of the CB&Q.  In May 1880, the board authorised him to appoint two general managers “one for all roads operated east of the Missouri River and one for all roads operated west of the river”, whilst Perkins became vice-president of the combined company.
