It is not really a "depot" but rather it was a bridge operators cabin( a rather large one, I might add). Many bridge operators also controlled interlocking plants and handled train orders. In the picture, you can see a stairway down to the tracks, so perhaps in this case the bridge operator could come down and deliver train orders but more likely just worked the plant.
