Ben It's not slung low, but the diagonals are attached at the bottom to the crossbearers, and it has a long straight side sill for strength. If you look at many other box car photos they may have deep side sills, sometimes tapered from each end, and sometimes straight all the way across. On many steel box cars the side sill is shallow and there are only 'tabs' that extend down to attach to the crossbearers. But the bolster height (where the car rests on the trucks) is the same for all of them.
