A few years ago when I was a pilot with the Air Force Academy Aero Club it was interesting to follow abandoned rail lines from the air to see what might be left. I was surprised to see that the C&S line from the towns of Parker to Elisabeth, Elbert, Eastonville and Falcon could still be followed with traces of the road bed easily seen from about a thousand feet. I have the book "Denver & New Orleans" by James Jones which helped to identify those traces from the past as seen from the air.
