Rich,

I don't have any of those kits, so I can't say for sure.  But some Front Range kits also came with Youngstown doors and plug doors, so that sounds plausible.  I have bought some kits just for the parts, such as Branchline undec kits, and I even bought a McKean center beam flat just to get the winches to use on a piggyback car.  We do what we have to do!

Richard,

I was looking at the 4700 and 4800 series undecorated 40' Front Range box cars.  It appears that they come with four different types of doors - including the five and seven panel Superior 6' doors.  Does this sound right?  I'd buy the kit to get the doors!

Thanks,

Rich

I use 5 panel Superior doors from old Front Range 40' box car kits. They look right to me.   If you have a stash of unbuilt kits from long ago you are in luck.  I just checked my stash and one kit number that contains the doors is 4045.  I suspect others in the 404X series also would have them.  As an extra added bonus the kits also include a pair of 7 panel Superior doors that look correct for other XM-32 cars.
